THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS

Nobody does creepy nutjob quite like Peter Lorre could.  Add in a disembodied hand, murderous to boot, and you got yourself the makings of a really solid classic horror film.

I give it 3 spooky pumpkins out of 5.

THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN

“To a new world of gods and monsters!”

Wow, the very definition of a classic.  Heartbreaking . . .

I give it 5 spooky pumpkins out of 5.

WILLARD

There’s nothing quite like the love between a boy and his rat.  Or rats.  Or rather, hundreds of rats.

Willard is such a poor guy, and pathetic too.  You feel genuinely sorry for him, and genuinely sickened by him at the same time.  He’s played with twisted conviction by Crispen Glover.

I give Willard 3.5 spooky pumpkins out of five.

TWICE-TOLD TALES

I love me athologies.  I also love me some Vincent Price.  Combine the two and you have magic.  Apparently these stories are from Nathaniel Hawthorne works . . . but really, who could pay attention beyond the ultimately awesome Vincent Price.

3.5 spooky pumpkins out of 5.
